WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A KNIGHT

  • Being humble in victory and gracious in defeat.

  • Knowing that being the best teammate is better than being the best athlete.

  • Recognizing that the toughest opponent you’ll face all season is yourself … the second toughest is the guy across from you all week in practice.

  • Acknowledging an opponent’s best effort … and offering him a hand up when you’ve displayed yours.

  • Embracing that the scoreboard can say you won, but you really didn’t if you didn’t put in your best effort. The scoreboard can say you lost, but you’ve really won if you put in your best effort.

  • On and off the field respecting game officials, coaches, volunteers, players, and fans and being thankful for their time, efforts, guidance, and support.

  • Being committed to the idea that the most important thing about being a scholar athlete is being a scholar.

  • Remembering that chivalry is not an outdated concept and that holding doors for others, having good manners, and being on your best behavior say more about character than words do.

  • Understanding that the actions of a Knight are not dependent upon being watched by others, but are driven by knowing right from wrong.

  • Understanding that the team name “Knights” on our jersey is more than a team name … it is a statement of our faith and a belief that we glorify God, positively represent our school, and bring honor to our family when our faith shines through in our actions.
